Outstanding Group Award – Commonwealth Department of Education, Science & Training

Accepting the 2005 J Eddis Linton Award in the Outstanding Group category is Stephanie Ciempka (centre) of the Commonwealth department of Education, Science and Training, seen here with co-worker Meg Coonan (right) and Veronica Pumpa (left) who nominated the winning team.

Accepting the Outstanding Group award on behalf of her Department, Stephanie Ciempka told the large audience at the Perth RMAA International Convention in September that a team of 90 had worked on the project which had resulted in the award nomination by Veronica Pumpa of the Australian Communication and Media Authority. Entitled ‘Recordkeeping: It’s your business’, the project which incorporated a web portal, printed manuals and extensive training for all staff, was described as being “a bold and innovative approach to the serious business of accountability and good record-keeping” by National Archives Director General, Ross Gibbs and the J Eddis Linton Awards Committee agreed.
