Any application for membership should be submitted on the Membership Application form and be accompanied by the annual membership subscription.

The RIM Professionals Australasia offers two main categories of Membership, these are:

  • Individual
  • Corporate

Individual

Membership is open to individuals employed full time in the Records and Information Management field, as well as individuals in allied professions or those that support the RIM Professionals Australasia objectives. A concessional membership fee applies to pensioners, retired people or those not in paid employment and to full-time students. Individual is an excellent starting point for membership.  No post-nominal or voting rights apply at this level of membership.

Membership Period: 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019  Cost: $365.00 (GST inclusive)

Individual with Status (professional)

This level of membership is achieved through the recognition of an individuals work, skill level and knowledge in the records and information management industry.   There are three (3) levels of Individual Membership –

  • Associate Member (ARIM),
  • Chartered Member (MRIM) and
  • Fellow (FRIM).

Individual with status members are the only ones who can vote at the AGM, hold senior positions on Branch Council or be a Director.  You receive post-nominals in recognition of your achievement in the industry.

Student

Available for students undertaking full-time study or part-time study in a relevant course and are working less than 25 hours per week. Students are offered their first year’s membership for free on submission of enrolment proof. Each year and thereafter a fee of $100 will be charged.

Membership Period: 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019   Cost: $100.00 (GST inclusive)

Concessional (Retired/Adverse Circumstances)

This is membership category applies to those who have recently retired or have some adverse circumstances to be taken into consideration. Membership on this basis enables you to maintain access with RIMPA. Membership Period: 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019    Cost: $100.00 (GST inclusive)

Corporate

Corporate membership is available to all organisations involved with or interested in Records and Information Management services sector. Each Corporate Membership specifies nominees who receive membership benefits whilst in the employ of the corporate membership. Membership provides the nominated staff within your organisation the opportunity to develop and maintain their technical knowledge of the industry allows individuals within organisations to keep abreast of changes in the industry and ensure your organisation is compliant with various Acts. Nominees are entitled to receive the offered membership benefits and discounts.

Note: A professional member cannot be a nominee of a corporate membership.

Corporate A (1-3 Nominees)

Membership Period: 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019   Cost: $495.00 (GST inclusive)

Corporate B (4 – 5 Nominees)

Membership Period: 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019    Cost: $1045.00 (GST inclusive)

Corporate C (6-9 Nominees)

Membership Period: 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019    Cost: $1500.00 (GST inclusive)

Corporate D (10 -20 Nominees)

Membership Period: 1 July 2018 to 30 June 2019   Cost: $2,400.00 (GST inclusive)

Pro Rata Membership Rates

Pro-rata membership rates are available of each membership year, these are as follows:

Full membership fees apply up to December of each membership year.

6 month membership fees from January – June of membership year.

3 month membership fees from April – June of membership year.
