Named in honour of significant members of the records and information management industry, they culminate in the recognition and celebration of organisations and individuals that implement exceptional initiatives, industry leading services, author thought provoking articles and provide exceptional commitment to RIMPA Global. Each individual award has specific eligibility requirements that can be viewed when selecting the award below.
About the Award
The iQ Article of the Year award was introduced in 2004 to promote and recognise quality written contributions to RIMPA Global’s publication, the iQ Magazine. Nominations for the COA award 2025 iQ Article of the Year covers the preceding 12 months of publication and eligible articles will be garnered from the following issues for the 2025 award season:

The Jim Shepherd Vendor of the Year award recognises significant contributions to the records and information management industry and celebrates the vendor partners of RIMPA Global. Our vendor partners form the foundation of the opportunities provided to the RIMPA Global membership.
A founding father and the first Branch Council President of the Queensland Branch, Jim Shepherd has been a proud member of RIMPA Global since its inception. Jim held many positions throughout his records and information management career and worked to bolster the connections with RIMPA Global and vendor partners through the delivery of seminars, advertising publications and networking opportunities.

About the Award
The Julie Apps New Practitioner Award is presented by RIMPA Global to recognise the contribution an individual, who is new to the industry, has made either to their workplace practices or to the RIMPA Global community.
Named in acknowledgement of Julie Apps, an honoured life member of RIMPA Global. Julie has been involved in the record and information management industry for over 40 years and has always had a keen focus on training and mentoring new practitioners to the industry, taking many young, unsure persons through the RIMPA Global journey to become passionate and contributing professionals. Her mentoring skills centre around involvement and guidance and there are numerous professionals working in the industry who Julie has helped to mould into the persons they are today.

Application Process
The application process for the Julie Apps New Practitioner award offers an exciting opportunity for emerging professionals in the records and information management industry to gain recognition for their achievements. To apply, applicants must demonstrate their commitment to the profession, showcasing innovative contributions, professional development, and a passion for advancing information management practices. Submissions should highlight key accomplishments, experiences, and the impact of their work on the industry.
The process for nomination and assessment is performed through three steps: Eligibility, Gate 1 and Gate 2. Nominations can be self-nominated or submitted by a third party. There may also be an in-person discussion with shortlisted nominees (if required).
The nominee is to provide evidence of their Workplace Contribution, Knowledge Sharing and Learning and Development against the listed categories in the online nomination form, with points being awarded for each category
The nominee must obtain a minimum of 50 points in Gate 1
The 50 points must be spread across at least two of the three categories
Nominations obtaining the 50 points will progress to Gate 2
The nominee will answer two questions on the online nomination form
The judging committee will score each response and the evidence provided using a merit-based assessment

About the Award
The Tom Lovett Outstanding Student Award is presented by RIMPA Global to recognise a student who has achieved excellence in their educational studies and this learning has impacted them and the RIMPA Global community and/or industry.
Tom Lovett is a founding father of RIMPA Global who, in March 1969 saw a gap that needed filling for an industry that was being ignored. Tom spoke to university professors and business leaders to gain support for the creation of the association and the development of industry specific courses. Tom was elected the foundation President of RMAA and held office until 1971, where he then continued in the industry teaching the RM course he developed until 1978.

About the Award
The Pamela Hall Outstanding Group Award is presented by RIMPA Global to recognise the contribution an organisation or group has made either to their workplace practices, the RIMPA Global community, or the records and information management industry.
Pamela was an archivist at the National Archives in New Zealand (now known as Archives New Zealand) in the 1950’s. Pamela gave lectures on archives at the Library School and at many conferences. She made an enormous foundational contribution to records and information management in New Zealand and is most well-known for her heroic actions as a young archivist in salvaging some of New Zealand’s most valuable public records after a fire swept through Wellington’s Hope Gibbons Building in 1952. Pamela worked alongside the demolition crew and ultimately saved more than 300 cubic metres of records.

About the Award
The David Moldrich Outstanding Volunteer Award is named after a dedicated and passionate individual who has contributed voluminous hours of time as a RIMPA Global volunteer. This award seeks to recognise Board Members, Ambassadors, RIMPA Committee and Working Group Members for their time and contributions to RIMPA Global in the year of the award and is a testament and thanks to the recipient's outstanding commitment to RIMPA Global. It demonstrates and recognises the importance of volunteering and giving back to the industry.
Like the J Eddis Linton award, the David Moldrich Outstanding Volunteer Award is a highlight of the award season and is eagerly anticipated by the industry. It reflects the strong foundation upon which RIMPA Global has been built and continues to grow, and serves as a reminder of the importance of recognising excellence and commitment within the field of records and information management.
David has been a member of RIMPA Global (previously RMAA) since 1978. As one of the longest serving members of RIMPA, he has held numerous positions within the organisation. He is currently the Executive Director and a member of the Board. In his working career, David has 45+ years of extensive experience and involvement with the strategy, design, development, introduction, implementation and post-implementation of all elements of Information, Data, Records, Knowledge and Enterprise Content Management solutions, processes and practices to many organisations both in Australia and overseas. In 2006, David was the recipient of the Medal of the Order of Australia for his services to the development of Standards (both National and International) in the field of Records and Information Management.

The J Eddis Linton Outstanding Individual award is the highlight of the RIMPA Global award season, presented to an individual who has made a significant contribution to records and information management.
As the pinnacle award bestowed upon an individual within the industry by RIMPA Global, it recognises excellence to a superior standard, outstanding achievements that have made a difference within the recipients’ organisation, the industry and RIMPA Global. Having made significant contributions within the areas of Contribution to RIMPA Global, Industry Support, Learning and Development and Knowledge Sharing over a sustained period of time that has a profound and significant impact, the recipients of this highly coveted award are role models from which we can all learn.
J Eddis Linton is one of RIMPA Global’s founding fathers, who, along with three other passionate record managers, sought to strengthen our industry by providing recordkeepers with a vision and a ‘way forward’ providing a strong foundation upon which RIMPA Global has been built and continues to grow.
