Starting her career in nursing she shifted her focus several years later to Records and Archives Management after attending a RMAA conference in Perth, WA with her partner. Her inspiration was the remarkable story of Margaret Medford, an early pioneer of foundational activities that established the records management practices we use today. Margaret ‘made a difference’ to the lives of countless people caught up in WWII in the Pacific. Margaret later used those skilled as those known as records clerks advanced to be recognised as the profession we have evolved into today.
Ruth is now serving on the RIMPA Board as Director Professional Development. Her desire is to help all members to grow their knowledge, expertise and make a positive difference in the lives of the people and the organisation’s they serve both today and into the future.
