One very small Information Management team, one growing, rapidly-changing organisation – can they create and maintain a stable records management system?
EPA’s Information Management Platform combines SharePoint with Records365. To ensure that the Platform is not only adopted but maintained by the business, the Information Management team works closely with functional areas. A culture of co-design has emerged, with end users identifying preferred site structure and metadata. Information Management provides substantial support, guidance and communication. The team also works closely with Information Security and Privacy to ensure messages and practice align across and support each area.

The world of artificial intelligence can certainly seem overwhelming at first. If you’re in a compliance or governance role, it might seem impossible to know where to start in terms of what you need to know without going down the rabbit hole of getting too technical and losing sight of the bigger picture.
Training sets are one thing that you certainly will need to know in order to govern AI effectively. Records management subject matter expertise is required to make them. IT certainly doesn’t have the skills to do so! But what actually is a training set, and how do you get started with creating one?
This session aims to provide a quick introduction. It’s not quite as complicated as you might think!Presented By Demos Gougoulas

“I am a Records Professional, but I don’t know who you are, I don’t know what you want. If you are looking to enter my business, I can tell you I don’t have budget, but what I do have, are a very particular set of skills. Skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for information like you. If you comply, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you, but if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you and I will register you.”
IT’S DEBATABLE

IT’S DEBATABLE
Let's argue the topic of whether we agree that cleaning up our data estates is beneficial before AI can be used effectively and ethically.
Thoughts around defensible data might come to mind and we can practically discuss principals around the practicalities of:
- Where data lives (and assessment of high-value data)
- Tidiness of data estates
- Infrastructure to ensure availability, security and performance
- Managed risks
- Regular assessment
Should these principles be necessary before consideration of utilising AI and what are the ethical impacts of AI if these controls are not in place?
