As the Director, Policy and Assurance, Government Records you will provide strategic leadership to teams responsible for advising on government recordkeeping, retention and disposal of public records. You will work closely with the Queensland State Archivist to develop, coordinate, and implement Queensland State Archives' (QSA) recordkeeping program for public authorities in Queensland. With the new Public Records Act 2023 coming into effect, you will play a vital role in developing a new policy framework to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and best practices.

 

Some of your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the implementation of the new Public Records Act 2023 
  • Provide strategic advice on recordkeeping and information management 
  • Build partnerships with the information management community 
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology for improved records management 
  • Manage a multi-disciplinary team and ensure quality service delivery 
  • Contribute to QSA's strategic agenda and foster a professional environment
