Announcing a New Partnership: RIMPA Global and KARMA Join Forces!

RIMPA Global and the Kenya Association of Records Managers and Archivists (KARMA) announce an MOU to promote growth in Records & Information Management in Kenya.

We are excited to announce that on 30th September 2024, RIMPA Global and the Kenya Association of Records Managers and Archivists (KARMA) officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), marking the beginning of a strategic partnership to foster talent development and educational growth across the records and information management profession in Kenya.

The partnership aims to support the newly established KARMA Talent Development Program (KTDP), which is designed to nurture emerging leaders in the profession through education, certification, and practical training. Through this collaboration, both organisations will provide a range of benefits to their members, including reciprocal membership discounts, exclusive workshop access, and participation opportunities in each other’s flagship events.

What Does This Mean for Our Members?

As part of the agreement, KARMA will promote RIMPA’s online training workshops and the annual RIMPA Live Conference within Kenya. Additionally, KARMA will recognise RIMPA Global as a partner on their digital platforms and share RIMPA’s updates in their newsletters.

In return, RIMPA Global will sponsor the KARMA Talent Development Program by offering free placements in the Executive Management Master Class, mentorships, and a four-week practicum for participants. We are also excited to extend six months of free membership to all KARMA members, with discounted membership options available thereafter.

Building a Global Network

The MOU reflects RIMPA’s commitment to strengthening international relationships and promoting professional growth. By working together, RIMPA Global and KARMA will develop educational content tailored to Kenyan requirements, while supporting professional recognition and leadership development for records management practitioners.

This collaboration is a significant step forward in our mission to expand globally and ensure that all records and information professionals, no matter where they are based, have access to the training and resources needed to excel in their careers.
