Budget 2025: $229M Boost for My Health Record Modernisation

The Federal Government has announced an additional $229 million to continue modernising the My Health Record system, aiming to make health information more accessible by 2028.

This follows the $429 million committed in 2023, and positions health and aged care as standout tech winners in this year’s budget.

Other health IT investments include:

  • $53.2 million for rolling out the single assessment system and digital implementation of the Aged Care Act 2024.

  • $37.8 million to support the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission.

Beyond health:

  • ASIC will receive $207 million to further improve business registers.

  • The NDIA gets $151 million to strengthen its fraud-detection IT systems.
