The New Zealand Social Services and Community Committee is now accepting submissions on the Responding to Abuse in Care Legislation Amendment Bill.

The Bill aims to improve the safety and wellbeing of individuals in care. The bill proposes changes to several laws, including amendments to the Oranga Tamariki Act to enhance youth justice procedures, the Children's Act to broaden workforce restrictions, and the Crimes Act to protect vulnerable adults. It also updates the Public Records Act to strengthen information management compliance. Submissions, which may be published online, can include a request to speak to the committee.
