Public Records Bill (Qld) 2023

In November 2023, RIMPA Global was invited by the Queensland Parliament Community Support and Services Committee to speak about our submission on the Public Records Bill 2023.

RIMPA Global's submission spoke about the importance of an updated definition for a 'record' to be more representative of the complexity of record creation in the digital age, including fields, tables, databases, digital workflows, multiple systems, etc.  We also highlighted the need for recursive and timely preservation of digital records of long-term temporary value alongside permanent archival records in order to avoid the unintended loss of this important historical business information.
