As the largest university library in Queensland, Australia, UQ Library holds significant special collections. “The University of Queensland Library provides access to rich collections that support the needs of researchers, educators and communities. We have a responsibility to ensure that the unique cultural heritage and institutional records of enduring value we hold are preserved for future generations. In developing our approaches to digital preservation, we look forward to engaging with and learning from others in the international and Australasia and Asia-Pacific DPC community as we mature our practices” says Sam Searle, UQ Library’s Director of Collections and Digital Services.

Robin Wright, Head of DPC Australasia and Asia-Pacific, welcomed the news, saying: “We are thrilled that UQ Library has joined the Coalition. They hold important collections and their efforts to embed Indigenous ways of knowing, being and doing into library services and collections will be valuable for many of our members.”

The DPC is an international charitable foundation which supports digital preservation, helping its members around the world to deliver resilient long-term access to digital content and services through community engagement, targeted advocacy work, training and workforce development, capacity building, good practice and standards, and through good management and governance.
