As acting Deputy Electoral Commissioner, Máiréad works closely with the Electoral Commissioner and Executive Director Corporate Services in the leadership and administration of the VEC.
Máiréad’s leads the Electoral Functions Group, which has responsibility for the delivery of elections, enrolment services, communication and community engagement, research and the administration of Victoria’s political funding and disclosure laws. She manages the VEC’s work with other Australian electoral authorities, the Electoral Matters Committee and local stakeholders to foster continuous innovation and improved accessibility in the VEC’s electoral program delivery.
Máiréad’s early profession as a chartered mechanical engineer in the oil and gas sector in Europe led to a 30-year career in executive leadership roles in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors focusing on productivity and operational resilience."
