As Chief Executive, founder and lead software designer at Power Business Services Ltd trading as Exedee (2007), and its Australian subsidiary, eCloud Business Services Pty Ltd (2014), Desi Lorand is a visionary and pioneer in New Zealand government and business circles specialising in the conversion of manual business document processing into automated workflows.
Desi’s focus has always been on People, Process and Technology (in that order) when providing cloud-based automated (robotic) business processing solutions to replace expensive, slow, manual processing of business documents and transactions.
When other people talk about the creation of the “paperless office”, it was Desi who between 2007 and now, was envisioning the integration of records, images and document management with workflow to improve business efficiency.
Today Desi is an acknowledged “thought leader” in the integration of “artificial intelligence” and machine learning into the automation of daily business process. She is a “software entrepreneur” who is frequently requested by her customers to offer her advice and expertise on many of their major projects, to design the project structure, workflow, metadata compilation, systems integration and reporting.
Ruth Edge has been a passionate advocate within the Records and Information Management industry for the past 25 years. Starting her career in nursing she shifted her focus several years later to Records and Archives Management after attending a RMAA conference in Perth, WA with her partner. Her inspiration was the remarkable story of Margaret Medford, an early pioneer of foundational activities that established the records management practices we use today. Margaret ‘made a difference’ to the lives of countless people caught up in WWII in the Pacific. Margaret later used those skilled as those known as records clerks advanced to be recognised as the profession we have evolved into today.
Ruth is now serving on the RIMPA Board as Director Professional Development. Her desire is to help all members to grow their knowledge, expertise and make a positive difference in the lives of the people and the organisation’s they serve both today and into the future.
