Dr John Flackett is a distinguished AI speaker, educator, advisor, and consultant, recognised as a leader in the AI community. With nearly 30 years of experience and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence, John has made significant contributions to the field. He is the Co-founder and Head of AiLab (Artificial Intelligence Laboratory), an international company with offices in Australia, the UK, and New Zealand. AiLab offers AI education, training, and research services to businesses, governments, and communities.
John is instrumental in developing and delivering AiLab workshops, which assist organisations across various industries in understanding AI, creating AI strategies, improving processes, and achieving business goals through AI implementation. Additionally, he supervises PhD students in AI research, aiding them in obtaining their doctorates.
As part of AiLab's expansion, John launched 'AiLab at AUT' at Auckland University of Technology, where he also served as the AI Specialist in Residence and AI Ambassador. Before founding AiLab, John spent a decade as a senior academic in the UK, teaching AI at both undergraduate and master's levels. He has also designed and developed commercial-grade software for major global corporations.
