SPOTLIGHT | An Interactive Roundtable Workshop
The Information Management (IM) profession is crucial for enabling evidence-based decisions and accountability in business operations. Despite its importance, the industry struggles with attracting and retaining skilled professionals. This roundtable discussion aims to unpack this issue by exploring the challenges of drawing talent to IM and explore strategies for building a more appealing and sustainable workforce. Key topics include understanding the evolving workforce expectations, particularly of Generation Z, and identifying effective recruitment and retention strategies. Participants will share their experiences and collaboratively work towards innovative solutions to enhance the profession's appeal and build and retain a resilient and skilled Information Management workforce.
Julie Carpenter is a passionate advocate of information and records management.
Julie has over 20 years’ experience in the Commonwealth Public Service and is currently working in the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. With University qualifications in both Information and Knowledge Management, she specialises in planning IM strategic direction and developing and implementing policy to support compliance.
She has volunteered on the ACT RIMPA Branch Council and as the most recent President, worked to create a community for members and assist them to get the most out of their membership
